Grievance Committee Report

1. Teacher with 4 teaching preps and 6 teaching preps -went to level 4-(School Committee Level). This will be going to arbitation in September.

2. Implementation of dress code at level 2- no jeans in academic settings. On 4/16/08, the School Committee denied the Level 4 grievance by a vote of 8-1. Three members were absent. The CEA has filed for arbitration (Level 5).

3. Inappropriate statements made by a principal. The CEA has withdrawn the grievance as the principal's contract is not being renewed.

4. Negative teaching evaluation based on accreditation issues. Tentatively resolved at Level 2- waiting for written confirmation.

Level 1- Site meeting with principal or other administrator.

Level 2- Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources (Steve Nembirkow)

Level 3- Committee for Employee Relations (Unit A)

Level 4- School Committee hearing
